Our Vision: Building a Digitally Inclusive Community
Digital Inclusion Whanganui (DIW) is an initiative, begun in January 2025. We are dedicated to empowering our community by bridging the digital divide. Whether it’s through improving access, skills, safety, or motivation, our goal is to ensure that every person in Whanganui can confidently and meaningfully participate in the digital world.
Our First Milestone Achieved on 20 May 2025

What Happens Next?
Our next priority is to form a Digital Inclusion Whanganui advisory/steering group. This group will guide our next steps: formalising our governance structure, creating an action plan including identifying the first pilot digital inclusion initiatives. This group is expected to be in place by the end of September 2025

- Our Strategic Business Business and Funding plan is a practical roadmap for action. It outlines how we’ll coordinate, fund, and deliver digital inclusion initiatives across Whanganui, including potential pilot programmes, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability strategies. It reflects a start-up mentality, but with scalable ambitions. We hope this will guide partnership-building and attract investment, while keeping our kaupapa people-first and responsive.
